This Is Definitely The Truth!!!

I'll be the first to admit, I learned this the hard way! And I still question myself "WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!" quiet often. But I'm THANKFUL (yes, another thing I'm thankful for :-)) that I was brought out of this before it was too late!! ;-)

I Could Say Well Over A Thousand Words....And I Don't Even Have A Picture!

So I think this is the only Thanksgiving in my life, I have ever stopped longer than a minute and really thought about what I am thankful for. (Or at least that I remember???) I look back 2 years ago and see a totally different person!!! A person I'm glad is gone, might I add. But I look at myself now and I'm still changing?!?! To myself I'm thinking "Woa, Can you slow down a min?!" You hear people say all the time, "You will never change" "You will always be the same" Is that a good thing? Or a bad??? Lol I'm pretty sure it's different for everybody. I use to think it was a bad thing to change, but now, I don't see that much of a problem...unless it is in a negative way that is.

These last few months have been absolutely CRAZY!!!! At one point, I didn't know whether I was pitching or catching! But now I think I'm finally making head way of NORMAL...or at least half way :) And THAT alone is something to be VERY thankful for because waking up to find you are not the person you want to be, like the person you promised yourself you'd never become, it hurts....bad! But I'm thankful I realized it and instead of being stubborn ole' me and getting upset or angry about it, I accepted it, and I'm changing it!!

I'm thankful for the people God has placed in my life! The leadership I have to look up to is....First Class, you can't get better than that!!! I have amazing friends who love me, no matter what is going on, at the end of the day I am always smiling because I know if we were to bust out singing, "You Got A Friend In Me" it would be true!! That is something I've been searching for my entire life!!! My family, even though there are a few... disagreeable places there, you can't help but love them...Yes even the crazys! I'm going to miss the day when I can't walk in to my parent's room and sit and talk, laugh, and joke. And yes, no matter how annoying he is, to hear he say a week or so ago, "I'm sorry for being a jerk yesterday" Really shows he cares and I really don't give him enough attention sometimes. As for the rest of them, I know they want the best for me and I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for them lol even if it is going the other direction! :) And I mean that in a good Christian way :)

One person particularly out of my family is my grandma. That has got to be one of the Stronger, Greatest, Loveliest, Amazingliest (that's not even a word) person I have ever known!!! And she is now in remission from cancer for her third time!!!! I don't care what you call that.......THAT IS GOD!!! She has been through so much and she come out making it look like a piece of pie!! She lost two of the most important people in her life, in one year, but yet she never gave up...49 years of marriage and a life long time mother...I had a hard time coping...I could only imagine what she went through!!! She's the person you would want to say, "When I grow up, I want to be just like her!" :) Words can't express the honor I have for this lady!

I'm telling you, I'm in the thankful mode!!! It's crazy...good, but crazy! I mean I just realized during choir practice while listening to the music minister how thankful I am for my limbs! This is some deep stuff right there!!! Lol and I know this will sound crazy for I also found today on my way to practice this evening, I am thankful for my car.... I was driving  and I see a mother or grandmother and a child, all dressed for church and the lady looked as if she had a Bible and the thought came to me "If you had no way else to go to church, would you walk?" And I will be the first to admit, it would be EXTREMELY hard to make that 20 min drive on foot!!! Especially because I am always running late...That could turn out bad trying to run the whole way!!! Lol I make that into a joke but that would be an extremely hard decision for me, like right now, I'm leaning towards yes, but I can barely make it to my car some days, much less the entire way. I'm just thankful I have a good car so that I don't have to make that decision!! :)

I've said a lot of things I am thankful for and really there are SOOOO much more!!! But you've probably read enough or have already stopped reading, so I think it's enough lol But I do say all of this to maybe get your mind-wheels turning during this thanksgiving season!!! :) Have a good Thanksgiving!!! :)

Another Reason To Go To Switzerland!!!

So I want to go to Switzerland because of The Sound of Music "The hills are alive..." :) It's so beautiful!!!! But I was reading in my Fine Arts text....ok, yeah I was just flipping through the pages, skimming to find the answers and looking at the pictures... Architecture just isn't my thing, ok?! :) But that doesn't count! I come upon the Blur Building!!!

AMAZING HUH!?!?!
So I actually read this part and it says that it forms a MASSIVE cloud (300 ft wide, 200 ft deep) over it in Lake Nuechatel in Ynerdon-les-Bains, Switzerland (Don't ask me how to pronounce all that, I just copied if from the book) and it floats 75 ft above the water! It's made from the lake water! It's shot in a "fine mist" through a dense array of high pressure fog-nozzles (what-ever that is) that changes the actual weather!!! It has a built in weather station electronically adjusting the water pressure and temperature in thirteen zones according to shifting humidity, wind direction, and speed.
THIS TOTALLY AMAZES ME!!!
I so have this on my list of things to see!!! This has got to be like one of the greatest things I've ever heard of!!!!

New News And Music :)

The past week has been crazy!!! I have been getting ready/doing classes for college (it's a trick!! Don't do it!!! j/k) I've been getting ready for the stress I'm about to be under in the next few weeks because not only is the lady that I work with going to be out of town for 2 weeks, but for a week of that I have to stay at here house (in the middle of NOWHERE!!!) And to top it off: It's the first of the month!!! Which means work is going to be CRAZY!!!!! I won't have cell phone, internet (unless I can connected my laptop to my Bluetooth), only books, school books, and school work, and work and AHHHH!!!!! So to say the least, the only thing that is going to keep me going is MUSIC!!! *Angels singing* That's the only thing that will keep me sane!!! oh...and the dog....The MASSIVE, beautiful lab! lol

Today was one of the most scariest/most fun days I've had in a while!!!! I went canoeing with my youth group. I have been twice before, might I add, they were HORRIBLE experiences!!!!! I had to be begged to go this time! I was scared and had literally knots in my stomach, all the way there!!! I was freaking out all the way there and even the night before. I was going expecting the worse! I (jokingly) didn't expect to come out alive! BUT never the less, I lived! I even rewrote a song for my FB status:
Had an awesome day! I didn't die...  No comments:

Courtney and Tripp

I know I just posted about Tripp, the little boy with EB, but his mom, Courtney, just posted again and it is so sweet, he just recently had a really bad sickness and is recovering well from it and he's not really playing much...and you can go read the rest! BUT She posted another video and some picture of him and I'm going to share them with you...then you have to go and see the rest...the link is on one of my later post if you don't already have it. Or, it may be to the right of this post in my blog list! :)

It still amazes me how well he keeps beat...and this is him just doing it on his own, he remembered it alone!!! I can barely do that!!!! :) jk but still!!! He's 2!!

This picture touches my heart because she looks so happy. You know this is so stressful for her and she doesn't really post much about herself but to finally see a picture of the both of them and he was smiling and she looks very happy...it is just so sweet!!! :)

"EB"ing a Mommy

I have been keeping up with this blog called "EB"ing a Mommy. It is so precious but so sad. It's this little boy, Tripp,

that has EB or Junction Epedermolysis Bullosa which is a type of skin disease where anything that rubs his skin causes him to get huge blisters. He's a little over 2, I believe. But the doctors told him he wouldn't live past 1. And the blog is his mom telling his story as he lives his life. The last post I have read is where she posted videos of him playing. It is so sweet, he is unable to talk because of a breathing problem if I understand correctly but he is very good at communicating. This is actually the smartest little two year old I've ever seen!! There was a video of him playing the drums to a song and to say he is two he's AWESOME!!! And another where he was hitting a little wind chime looking thing to a song and he was almost exactly with the song! He's so musical! Lol!

But this little boy has been through so much! And to see how happy he is, it's amazing! It's almost like he doesn't even know what's wrong. He's always in so much pain but I read when she goes to get him in the morning he always has a smile! I can't seem to get him off my mind here lately, he is so strong to go through nothing but pain all of his life. He doesn't know what it's like to live normal life. It really got me to thinking how bless I am! Sometimes people can just take life for granted. This has definitely gave me a new prospective!

Here is the blog you can go and read more about this precious little boy:

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide!

I can't explain what's going on in my head. In just the past week, my world has been turned upside down! I can't even begin to explain how I feel right now. I have learned one thing this week,
"You can run, but you can't hide"
You can run away from God, of course you'd be miserable after a while. But you can't just want God to be in your life and pray to Him and worship Him and hide from what He is telling you!

Last year about this time (At camp/PEAK) I felt like I was given a direction...that I did NOT want to go!!! And I was told many many many times that is what I was going to do...Now I'm stubborn, I'll admit it now, but then I wouldn't have admitted that! I just hide from what God wanted me to do...That didn't work! Now I'm VERY excited! I want to do it! If it wasn't for promising my dad, (God love him), I'd start now!

So this year at PEAK, not only was I given the same direction, more was added to that! This time, I knew I couldn't hide. Well I was going to try but....two days later, I couldn't take it any longer...I was telling a friend and said, "I think God just put His foot down!"

But I think I've learned my lesson now! Because the more you run, the more unhappy you get and the more you hide the quicker it comes to you! You're going to end up there one way or the other! It is definitely easy! And honestly, I don't know how I'm going to make it but....BUT God, BUT God! (Inside youth group joke) Everything is in His hands!

My reasoning for sharing this is to say,
"Don't run or hide from God! It makes it easier on yourself just to
let Him do all the work than try to do it yourself!"

This year a few friends (me, Cory, brooke, and Jacob) went to The Franks house, it wasn't really a normal Fourth of July gathering really. Yes, there was barbaque, and fruit :) covered in chocolate! :D

A piece of green apple and a banana covered in chocolate mixed with peanut butter!
Yummyyyyy!!!!

Don't judge me! :)

I found this song randomly one day on YouTube. I am no fan of Justin Bieber! This is the only song I've ever actually listened by him. In the video, beside the fact he is singing to a concert at one point and some of his helping is people meeting him (which I don't agree matches the song) it's a really good song. The first time I heard it I cried because of some of the things it shows!

Tell Me What You Think!

 The Unforgotten
In a small town in Nebraska on a bright Saturday morning, the outreach team at First Pentecostal Church of Whiteclay met as they do every second Saturday of the month.  They discuss their progress and options for new ideas and opportunities. On this morning the group of men and women were going to share personal experiences and burdens each person had for outreach.  Each person would give at least one input to help with new ideas to excel their ministry.  The meeting started with heart-touching experiences and great ideas.  Midway down the table Kurt, who is the chairman of the church. He was a devout Christian who loves God and loves His word.  He has always had a strong burden for lost souls.  He has won many souls but that is never enough for him; he only goes out for more.  His favorite verse is Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” He feels everyone should live by this scripture and he is going to try to explain why in his experience he is about to share.  This story is a time in his life that he can never forget.  This is something he will always look back on when he has doubts; it always cheers him up. As he begins telling his story he looks down to see his wife, Jan, smiling up at him because she know just what he is about to  say.
Everyday after she got out of school, a young girl walked down to the park 4 blocks from her apartment where she always sat and read her Bible. After she is finished reading, she would put in her book-bag and watch everything around her in awe. The birds that sing, the trees that blow, the happy people who walk, the family picnics, she loved it all.  She loved to just sit and watch the fun and laughter of others.  Sometimes she imagined herself in someone else’s shoes; in a whole different life.  Though she never dreamed for long for the alarm on her watch, she knew she had to be home before her parents got there at four thirty.
She went to the park to read her Bible because she wasn’t allowed to at home.  Her parents did not believe in God; although, they both grew up in the same church she visited one time in the same town of Whiteclay.  She went to the park to make sure she would not be seen by them and always kept it in her book-bag. This was they will think it was just a book or homework of some kind.  She loved reading the Word of God so much; it was her favorite thing to do.  And she knows that in Psalms 119:11 the Bible says, “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”  She didn’t like being deceitful to her parents but something told her everything would all turn out good in the end because of what Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that comes to God must believe he is and that He is a rewarded of them that diligently seek Him.”
Once she got home she goes to her room and began to work on her homework.  After she finished she read books until it was supper time.  She was able to read books by Christian authors because her parents never read; they watched television all night until it was time to go to bed.  Her parents did not pay much attention to her reading books until supper.  They all ate in front of the television and watched a movie.  Most of the time the movies were not what she thought a Christian should watch; but, she had to watch it.  Sometimes she fell asleep after she finished eating.  Then her mom would wake her up and make her go to bed.
She has done this everyday until she was twelve.  That is the first time she went to church.  She and her parents moved into her dad’s parent’s house for about six months until they could find a new house to live in.  While staying with her grandparents, they made them all go to church with them every time they went.  She had always heard about church, and God and of course heard about it from her family, but never actually been to a real church.  Once she started going to church she loved it very much! Even her Sunday school teacher gave her a Bible to keep and she loved it.  She knew her dad did not like it but because she knew he would not say anything until they moved out, she kept reading it day in and day out.
Once they moved out and into their own home, he took the Bible away from her and she was unable to read any longer.  She did not know why, but she did like the feeling anymore of not having a Bible.  Then in August when she started school, she found a friend who talked to her and gave her one of her Bibles.  From then until she was seventeen or eighteen, she went to the park after school to continue reading her Bible.  And she felt like she was whole again.
One day she was going to sit on the bench where she normally sat everyday, but today she walked to it and it was taken by a guy from her class. So she planned to walk by it to get the other bench; although, the guy called out her name and told her:
“You can still sit here, I won’t be here for long”
So as awkward as she felt, to be nice, she kindly walked over on the other side of him and graciously sat down.  She did not really know what to do at first, but she went about her daily routine and got out her Bible and started reading. After a while the guy looked over and politely interrupted her:
“I hate to seem like I’ve been constantly watching you but in a way I have been.  I see you every day, when I walk past here, reading and I can’t help notice what you are reading. Do you go to church anywhere?”
“No, I went about five years ago but I haven’t been back since”
“Did you like it? Would you like to go back”
“I loved it, but I’m not sure I want to go back?”
            “Why not?”
“Well, it’s a little complicated. I’d rather not go into it.”
“Ok, that is perfectly fine. No pressure. But would it be ok if I come back tomorrow and we talk. Just about what kind of things you believe and what you like to read in the Bible so much. You seem pretty interested.”
“I am very interested; I feel like this is what completes me. I think I would like to talk about it tomorrow.”
“Ok, well I will let you get to you’re reading today. We can just meet here tomorrow after school right?”
With a big smile on her face, she gladly agreed and he calmly walked down the side walk and out of the park.  She was very excited for a long while; she never got to read that day other than what she had before he started talking to her. When she got home, she started doing her homework and was still sidetracked by what had happened earlier but she managed to get through it.  She just couldn’t imagine someone, her age, caring enough to talk to her about church.  The whole situation blew her mind.  She would have someone to talk to about what she read, get questions answered, had a friend who possible even understood!  She couldn’t manage to read her books like she usually does.  She only sat in her room still in amazement.   When supper came around, she ate like normal in front of the television and appeared to be watching it, but never heard a word.  She was so excited about the next day she could hardly even go to sleep that night.
When the next day rolled around she could hardly wait to get to the park.  She almost ran to there after school let out.  When she got there he was already waiting on her.  It seemed as if he were just as exited as she was.  They staid and talked the entire time, until her watch went off.  She could not believe how long they kept conversation going.  On their way out of the park they planned to do that everyday after school.  They both enjoyed it so much!  They would read together and then discuss it.  They did this for about three weeks.  They kept talking and talking until they became really good friends; they began to get to know each other a little better.  He started talking about his family and his church more.  He wanted her to meet them but he wasn’t sure if she would want to.  Finally, one day after thinking about it really hard, he comes out and asked:
“I know you said before you weren’t sure if you would want to go back to church, but you love it so much. I don’t understand but I’m not asking for an explanation. I guess I’m asking would like to meet my family?”
At first she was really shocked; it was like her whole world stopped.  She knew her parents would not go for anything to deal with the church, but maybe his family.  They won’t know who it is so they won’t know they are Christian.  A few seconds later after quickly thinking things through she replies with a smile:
“I like that idea. I’m going to have to say, yes.”
“Great! How does Friday for supper sound?”
            “That will wonderful”
They both laughed and talked the remaining time they had left until her watch went off.  Then they departed and when home; both with big smiles full of joy.
That night, she went home and did her homework and then after the movie she mentioned she wanted to go to a friend’s house for supper Friday.  They surprisingly agreed quickly with no questions asked.  They knew she would not be any trouble, she was a good kid.
So they meet the rest of the week and they were both very anxious about Friday.  When the day finally came, they met and had a great time.  His parents were exceptive of her; they all laughed and joked the night away until it was time for her to be home.
This became a habit after a while; she began eating with them on Fridays.  They became such great friends and they were both truly happy.  They were together not only Monday through Friday after school but everyday before long.  When they went to the park now they drift off into other conversations rather than reading as they started.  She stays up some time after her parents have gone to bed, and starts reading once they are asleep.
One Saturday while they were talking together, he stopped and looked at her.  He had been thinking all day long.  He wanted to take the next step with her.  He wanted her to come to church with him.  This time when he asked, she didn’t hesitate; she agreed.  She didn’t know how she was going to get away with it; how she would get it passed her parents, but she wanted to go.
Nevertheless, she found a way to go with him more than just a couple of times.  Her parents knew she was with a guy by this time, but knowing his parents were with them all of the time put them at ease.   What they did not know about the days they went to the park.  They would not be happy about that; although, there was no way they would ever know.  Or at least that is what she hoped.
One day after school, she was in such a big hurry to get to the park, she forgot to set her watch at school.  When she realized her watch had not gone off, it was almost five.  She knew she was in big trouble.  She left as quickly as possible without looking as afraid as she really was.  When she arrived her parents were there waiting on her infuriated; it wasn't like her to not be there when they got home.  Her heart raced for reason why she could have been late, but she could not make herself lie.  She told them that she has been going to the park after school for many, many years; it had been almost six years now.  She did not explain what she had been doing there, but they soon found out they began going through her things in distrust.  Even more furious after finding her Bible, they stopped her from going to the park or doing anything other than going to school and got rid of her Bible.  She had gone behind their backs for almost six years; they were not pleased with her at all.
The two were both overwhelmingly upset.  As they walked to school the next morning, she had to explain her entire story to him way back to when she was twelve.  He understood now why she was hesitant at first, but he could not understand why she did not just tell him what the problem was.  He did not know her parents didn’t know or that they would disapprove.  He would have done differently if he would have known.  He hoped her parents were not mad at him, or thought he had done any harm to their daughter.  He also worried about her; he did not know the lifestyle she lived in and did not want her to get hurt.  Although, thankfully, her parents were not as he suspected.  They were only angered they she went behind their back and against their beliefs.
After a few weeks of her parents watching her close, she and her parent come up with an agreement.  They realized that after six years, there really was no way to stop her from what she believes now.  Once she goes off to college she will do whatever she believes anyways.  And the two only had about a month left in school; they were together most of the second semester.  Her parents did not support her in her decisions, although they allowed her to continue her life and became a member of First Pentecostal Church of Whiteclay with him.  Even during college they were both inseparable.  At the end of their second year, he proposed to her.  About year later after their decision, her parents joined the church as well and her parents and his become good friends.  A year and half later his proposal, Kurt and Jan got married and lived happily ever after.

So in the past month or so? I have realized, I'm not the best at parking! But at least this last time I got in between the lines, rather than in the middle!

I will justify myself though! I can drive, that's not my problem! It's paying attention :) I get carried away in conversation or...laughing lol!

Crazy Allergy Triggers!

I was reading an article about allergy triggers and the number three was morning showers?! It says, "Pollen particles get on your body, hair, clothing and shoes and can prolong your allergy grief when you're inside."
The number five was blue jean buttons??? "Nickel is a rash trigger for up to 20 percent of women-and it's what most buttons on jeans are made of." And apparently you can prevent this from coating your buttons with clear finger nail polish....? I thought these were rather odd, never heard of it before! I think I'll take my showers and coat my buttons tonight before I go to bed! :)

Touch My Heart Moments!

Over the past month, I must say, kids have been just so sweet! Yes, I just said that!

Kati, Maci, and Abbi are my little second cousins and I've been trying to get them to come to church with me as much as possible! I have not been a kids person...ever but they are growing on me and definitely helping me get use to it I guess lol :D

The night of my graduation, I was at my grandparent's getting ready and my cousin and her little girls were going to ride with them to my graduation. It ended up the girls wanted to ride with me, and I have to admit these girls, hyper and all, have grown on me! If at all possible, I'd bring them home with me! But for some reason all three wanted to put up their hair Right before we left and Anni, my cousin-their mom, only had enough stuff for two and she was going to have look for the other on the way there. Well Maci got all up set and stuff, then I realized, I had an extra holder in my console...With tears gushing down her face, I had it to her and she instantly smiles!

While on the way to graduation, Maci sees a young girl, maybe 19 or 20 driving down the road beside us and Maci goes "Look Kati, that's girl is really pretty!" And Abbi, the youngest, goes, "Not at pretty as Shelby!" How can you not smile at that?!

Kati is very quite, she is more shy than Maci and Abbi. But her easy going and mom like personality toward the girls helps me! :) She's like a tiny friend lol Once the little girls go to sleep we stay up together most of the time talking. She talks like I know all of her friends :) And I think she feel in love with my bed, it takes her like 5 mins to fall asleep every time!

I guess I've realized, kid might not be so bad after all :)

That doesn't mean I want any though!!

Vertical Hope Corps!!!

Last week was Vertical Hope Corps!!! Our youth group stayed at our church from Wednesday until Saturday praying, working, and having fun together! We started Wednesday morning, along with every other morning, with prayer. Most of the time in youth prayer, it's very quite and uncomfortable. In these prayers it was loud and powerful!!! There wasn't one person who wasn't praying strong! Even after not getting any sleep we still got up got ready and were in prayer!

After prayer was work time, they guys were redoing the baptistery rooms! They took down the old wall paper, that was well needed! And they started painting it.  They worked really hard, they did work in 4 days they usually would talk a week or longer!

The girls decorated a Sunday school room and hung up Acts 2:38 in every Sunday school room!! So most of that time was spend cutting and hanging up letters!! That took a while!!! I even woke myself up at one point Friday night, I believe, still going through the motions of hanging up letters!!

After work and lunch, we went on outreach! This was always really good, first we practiced for our major outreach for Saturday, A puppet show!

At first this was not looking good for me, I'm NOT the excited outgoing person I was expected to be!!! But it turned out great!!! After practice, Wednesday, we went to the Magnolia House, which is a retirement home. Every Wednesday I believe, our pastor goes there and does a service for the elders. Usually, we go on Sunday afternoons to help him and sing to them but we went there the first day along with an apartment complex near there, we put out flyer.

Thursday, we went downtown and passed out water bottles with church cards on them to people on the street...we had a good turn out!! We even had a construction crew like wipe us out! I told one of the men taking a break on the bench and we ran around telling the rest of the crew for us!

Friday, we did a flash mob. I personally had never heard of this, so for those who don't know. It's a group that goes into a public place and in this case has a message for everyone to see and them leaves. Our message was "GOD <3 YOU"

This was really cool, we all walked from the van, to and throughout the mall in a line! We had a good time while doing it! Saturday was our biggest day of outreach! We did out puppet show at an apartment complexes we usually do a bus route outreach there Sunday morning. There were many kids there!! Even adults and youth were there participating! It was a really good turn out!!!

After outreach we headed back to work until supper, we had a different family each night bring food.  Each night, the food was great!!! After supper, Wednesday, we had to HURRY and get ready for church, we had to be in the statuary at 6:20 for ensemble practice, which might I add, we didn't make it! :) The girls had a few set backs and we were all scattered as well but! Never the less we made it to service and the youth ensemble sang and service was well!

After service was free time, the girls had to move rooms because of air problems. The rest of the nights, we were suppose to have free time after supper, but it didn't quite ever make that! We were always trying to catch up with our work and finish as quick as possible! We didn't finish until 4:45 Saturday morning!!! So I'm not sure what would have happened if we hadn't done that!

Behind all that was going on, we were always laughing!

Between listening to music, getting our blessings! Or running around taking pictures, falling down steps, dancing to "Jesus, You're My Super Hero"

Worrying about the Tormado, loosing 57 "E" and having to cut them all out again...if they were even there from the beginning! :) Having a contaminated Sunday school room because of the disappearing letters! And how can I forget, Coffee, Coffee, Coffee! I have never drank so much coffee in my life!!!

Through all of our time together there was many things we shared, we have a million inside jokes, we laughed and laughed and laughed....sometimes for no reason! I think we become closer together and unified a lot this week! There seems to be a big bond between us now!! And I doubt we will EVER forget this!!! And I do believe it was voted that we will be having this again and again! :)

This week was definitely EPIC and want to tell every one who was supporting us and pray and fasting for us THANK YA!!! :D

Gotta Catch Ya'll Up!!!

WOW! A lot as happen!!!! My last post was on April 26, almost a month ago! It feels like it's been years because SO much has happened!!!

In my most recent post, I talkeded about how I was so sick of school and English class and Physics probably lol And now I'm proud to say Friday, May 13th I GRADUATED!!! WHOOOOO!!!! I'm totally excited!!! I keep thinking "ohhhh I know I'm going to hate going back to school the 15th"...then I think...WAIT A MIN!!! :D It hasn't hit me yet I guess! But when I realize, if not physically, mentally I'm bouncing around!!!!!

Also before I was talking about turning 18, well Here it is :) I can't believe that either, everything still feels the same....well, almost everything anyways!! Me and one of my greatest friends, Brooke, had our party together. Yes, at 18, and she's 16! But it was really good! I had a blast :) Even through the delirious night of decorating! :)

And then on Cinco de Mayo, :) what a wonderful picnic, softball, and watching the stars! Just Sayin' :D

Talking about being delirious, in my next post, I'll show you delirious! Vertical Hope Corps! Work, Work, Work, Fun, Fun, Fun!!! I know you've never heard those words in the same sentences but...You haven't been with Vertical Youth!!! We can pull fun and laughter out of anything!!!!!!

And during all, most of this, I've been living with my grandparents due to Mississippi River flooding. So you can only imagine how busy things have been! Plus fundraisers for PEAK, work, preparing for the summer fun and of course time with my family and friends!!!! Over the next post I'll be telling about the things that have been and will be going on! But a quick catch up first! ;)

Bitter Sweet Ending

Wow, time has just flown by and the time is almost up! I'm very excited but it's going to be so sad! For the past 14 years I've known nothing but school: Monday through Friday 8-3, homework, projects, essays. And now in about 2 weeks it's all over! Part of me is running out of the door, ready to go! I'm so sick of English and Physics!!! But there's a part of me that says, "Wait, What now?!" It still to me isn't real to me. It kinda makes me sad but I don't give myself time to think about it! I mean I've been saying when I graduate I'm going to do this and that and now it's here and my thoughts are "Ok, What am I going to do?" It's very mind blowing right now! I am still going to be at home, still with my parents, same people, same church, but so much time on my hands! What am I going to do?! Sure I'm POSITIVE something will always be going on but it's just.....like a whole new world!

WHERE'S THE COFFEE?!?!

3 days until my birthday!!! And 2 weeks until the last day of school!!!!! I'm counting the hours now....no, not really but my English teacher is daring me to!! She's going to be the death of me!!! We only have 10 more days of school left and WE JUST STARTED LORD OF THE FLIES!!! We got out project paper the other day...I'm going to DIE!!! It's so funny to go to school now, half of us are asleep, zombies walking around. My last project, I had four hours of sleep! and that's because I fell asleep working! -I've developed narcoleptic habits- And my only thoughts are "There's no place like graduation, there's no place like graduation!"

How Important Is Your God?

As in my last post, in Genesis again, the 22 chapter, where God test Abraham's faith. God says take your only son, Isaac, to Moriah, and sacrifice him as a burnt offering.

Fast-forwarding five to ten years in my life, I couldn't imagine leading my son/daughter by the hand to a mountain to kill them! When Isaac says in verse 7, "Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" If I would have gotten that far, that's where I'd be turning around!!! Yet Abraham says only "God will provide..." Can you imagine?! The pain, the tears dwelling inside him as he says those words?!

This is so moving to know Abraham was so close to God, he trusted Him so much, even his only son couldn't stop him from God. Even his own flesh and blood couldn't stand in between their relationship! If the angel had not come down as stopped him, he could have sacrificed his only son!

When I read this I was instantly inspired! What would happen if we became so close to God, nothing could stop us from Him? I know exactly where my weakness is and for the next four weeks I'm going to work on it! I've done this before but not as long. Back in July 2010, I went about 2 or 3 weeks I believe. I posted about it then as well, "Reaching In Every Way" "He's An On-Time God, Yes He Is!" "Catching Up On....LIFE!!!" and kinda sorta "Cell phone addiction!"

This time I have a number of reasons I'm going this for. Not just to break an addiction, although this is a very important factor! This is one of the five I will discuss:

1. I spend a lot of time texting, using the internet, etc. It does get in the way, as much as I don't want to admit it, of spending more time with God. And this is one thing I'm trying to stop! Along with it interfering with my walk with God, It can be something I do when I procrastinate!

2. I'm an awesome procrastinator!!!! THE Queen!!! I can do so many things later, it's unreal!! By talking everything away, I'll have nothing else better to do?? I'll have nothing to distract me or to do when I really just, don't want to do it! Lol!

3. I'm on the edge of....Stepping out!!! I was reading back on some old post and thought about some things I've said/wrote in the past. I've come such a long way of being introverted and that is great! I'm so thankful!!! I really didn't realize how far I'd come. BUT I've got a bit to go! Even this weekend, I amazed myself with something I thought I'd never be able to do and......I DID IT!!! Now let's make sure I can keep it up before I get too excited! :D

4. For the lost. There are over ten people of the top of my heard that I want to see saved! When I stop and think about it, my heart just swells for these people! And every time I turn around there is something that reminds me of the lost people and it hurts so bad just watching them fade away and/or living so miserably!!! Last weekend, I went into a home and to say the least I came out sobbing! The site is so indescribable for me! It hurts to know young kids are growing up in that environment! And don't know any better!!
And just today even! I was driving downtown when a young girl walks right out in front of me with her hands raised as if she were surrendering. She wanted me to hit her! Luckily, thank God, I was able to stop! But she just moved out of my way and walked to the next car. My heart dropped, flash backs began to role, I was very upset! God Bless the broken hearted!!! There has to be a move in our community and the only way to start it is for us to start praying!

5. Along with everything else and one more I won't mention, I want to take my relationship with God a step farther! I want to become as close to God as Abraham! I want to love so hard nothing else could possible get in the way! I just long to be closer to The One True Living God!

So starting Sunday March 13, 2011 - Sunday April 10, 2011, I, Shelby, am going on a four week fast of texting, faacebook, and any personal connections and conversations other than phone calls and blog, I have to express my feelings as I go along my journey! :D

Open Up Your Eyes

I've been reading in Genesis for the past week or so and I just finished reading about Abraham. I was reading about how he had a son by the servant Hagar named Ishmael and even though he was no the son God wanted Abraham to have with Sarah, his wife, he still promised to make a great nation out of him as well.

When the time come when Issac was born and they were celebrating for him, Ishmael was picking on Issac. Of course like any other mother, Sarah was upset and wanted him and the servant Hagar to leave. So they had to leave and live in the wilderness. After a while they're running out of food and water and Ishmael is getting very weak. Hagar can tell that her only son is about to die and she can't take the pain of just watching him because she can do nothing else for him or herself. So even though God has promised to make a nation of him, she leaves him to die alone...

BUT in Genesis 21:19 it says "And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink." When I read this, I was blown away. "And God opened her eyes" to say her dying son. Even though it was right in front of her, God opened her eyes.

Sometimes when in a problem of your life, you have to open up your eyes to God's blessings that are right in front of you. What if we were sensitive enough to open our eyes before God did it for us? How much more would He pour out his blessings??

Wii Contections!!!!

So my little brother had to have the wii connected to the internet for some reason, unknown?? And I thought it was really crazy because he doesn't have any games that need internet connection?? But anyways, he apparently don't know how to take the modem back to the computer where it belongs, because it was still hooked up to the wii (we don't have wifi yet)....sooo, I had to check the internet on here out for myself...I'm currently using it now! :D It's AWESOME! But it's rather hard because there is no mouse, and I shake all the time so the controler is really hard for me use, but it's pretty cool to have a huge screen! :) I wasted like my whole lunch break (hour and half) on here! BUT!!! I got things done while I was having fun ;) I posted a poem I wrote for school on poem hunters and now I'm about to go look at college stuff ;) I just had to stop and tell how amazed I was! Surfs up! :D

God, Bless the Mute!!!

I'm going on my fourth day with no voice!! I'M GOING CRAZY!!! It's so lonely!!! You can't talk to people, or you can but they don't know what you're saying half the time! And people that don't read lips, forget it! So.......I'll just post something with a bunch of excitement!!!!!

No! Go Away!

Okay, from my last post, it seemed I was very excited about the whole ice storm here in my hometown! And I was, I mean I love missing school and all but....I HATE STAYING INSIDE!!! By twelve o'clock, I had cleaned almost my whole room, I worked on my essay until I was sick of it (still not done though), and I couldn't go anywhere (although later I ended up going in town to go to the bank and to pick up something at work and go to eat with someone later that day :) I hate feeling like I HAVE to stay somewhere! I would have loved it if I choose to stay home and be warm, but instead I felt like I was in prison!! And ya know what! It's coming back! Not cool! Definitely not looking forward to that! I'm so ready for spring...for multiply reason!

Here are two picture I took the day after the big part of the storm come through.

The first one is my car: All my windows were frozen! It was quite funny yet scary: the night before on my way home, I had to stay in the left lane because I couldn't get my back windows and rear-view mirrors to defrost. And I had to go like 10 mph on the bridge because I couldn't get around the car in front of me! I think we finally made it to 20 mph before we got over! And there were icicles EVERYWHERE!

Even on Bo's bike he left out in the walk way! I would hate to be him the next time he sat on that!

I will have to admit, I mean I didn't like staying inside but it was pretty to look at all the ice. There was a tree in my back yard that was really pretty frozen. And once I got out it was really pretty around town. On my way downtown I see ice falling from power lines. How many times do we get see this here?!
