Look at the Bright Side of Things

Christmas has come and gone already! Now we're looking forward to a fresh start of 2011!!! This year, I can already tell, is going to amazing!!! Only 4 months and 14 days until graduation! 3 months and 20 days until I turn 18! So I mean that alone can make my year, but I'm positive there is move to come than that!

The past few weeks have been.....INSANE! Busy, busy, busy! Of course as always around Christmas! So to start off I put my two notice in a little over 3 weeks ago, last day was the 23, started a new one, unexpectedly, Monday. Everybody else knew about it....but me until 12:30 That morning.....I had to be at work at 2:30!!! And it's like a God sent job! It's exactly what I needed and what I wanted! Perfect hours, perfect days, perfect pay! EVERYTHING!! And let me tell you NO WEEKENDS!!! That's a HUGE blessing to me!!!!!!

Then Christmas was AWESOME! The 18th we did Christmas at my grandma's house (my dad's side) because my cousin had to work Christmas Eve night. It was really nice! I love spending time with family, I think our highlight this year was I was opening a present and it was an iHome Alarm Clock. Which is by the way AWESOME!! I woke up this morning to the Sound of Music! But anyways, I opened it so the box and was totally excited! And my cousin, Ashlea, says, "I hate to tell you thing but...that's not what's in the box".......They said it looked like I'd lost a friend! I feel bad I looked like that because I wasn't that disappointed, I was just confused as to what's in the box! BUT That's what was in the box!

On Christmas Eve, We went to the Santa Clause parade at my grandma's house like we do every year. It was SOOO COLD!! But I had so many clothes on, I couldn't feel a thing! :) After that I had to go to my grandparents house to give my grandma the dressing for the next day and I staid a visited for a little while. It was really nice...My grandpa ended up talking me into picking up pecans in his front yard though! We picked for like almost 2 hours! While we picked my Uncle Allen and Aunt Mot arrived into town! They even picked up a few pecans as well when they got here! :D ha ha! We picked up a little over 14 lbs! But even though I was dead tired, I was smiling on the inside just to spend another day with them...I use to basically live with them when I was little. We lived beside them so I'd go over there anytime I pleased :)

Then Christmas Eve Night, was with my family. We all had a good time, then played with everything afterward. The highlight then was my gift from Bo, along with a photo album and a phone cover, I got this...

Bubble wrap and dog bones! Aunt Gina said it's so I can "Pop 'n' Naw!" Crazy! I laughed forever!
Oh yeah! This is also when I got my new camera!!! :D This explains why I only have pics for half of this blog!

Next was Christmas with my Mom's side of the family! The house was PACKED! And it wasn't even all of us!!! There are 4 kids, 8 grand-kids and 8 great-grand-kids!! Plus all the husbands and wives!! It's a big thing! There was only like half of us there, plus my great-aunt and my aunt's sister was there this year too. Then my great-uncle and his wive, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson came by from Arkansas and South Carolina, I believe!! Whew!!! That's a lot of people!!!! We had a wonderful time!
This is a my grandpa, mom, and grandma!

This is me and my uncle allen!

It was a wonderful Christmas! I'm so happy I was able to spend Christmas with my family!

Now Christmas is over, and back to normal life. Sunday night, church started back on normal schedule...with the exception of a like 10 or 15 families I believe I heard Bro Johnson say. Then Monday I unexpectedly got a new job as I said earlier. So I did that, then had practice for uTunes...I won't go into to all that just yet. I'm still in shock I agreed!!! Then Tuesday, Me, Aunt Gina, Ashlea, Ciara, and Brooke all went shopping!!! :D We had a blast! For lunch, we ate at Sicily's! That was so good! We had to go shop some more before we could even go and eat dessert! We ate dessert at Cheesecake Bistro! YUMMMMM!!!

This is what be and Brooke got! Cookies and Cream Cheesecake!! Heavenly!!!

I also tasted Ashlea's Reese's Cheesecake...I couldn't resist! It was soooooo Good!! And Aunt Gina's White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cheesecake!! It was great too!! Ciara had White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake I believe? I'm not a strawberry fan though. It looked good though???

We had laughs after laughs, afterward me and Brooke went to look at Christmas light, yes after Christmas lol. We had to get some talking out though, even though we were together ALL day! :)

The point for day's post is....Life is as Grand as you make it! I'm trying to catch up on my daily devotion before the year ends, so I can start fresh! A few days ago I was reading in October. I got to the 18th. "Shake It Off" It talks about the story of the farmer that tried to bury his donkey. But the donkey was smarter than the man though because every time they through dirt on him, he shook it off! The moral is to become victorious, shake the things off that put you down and under! And Look At The Bright Side of Things :)

What Can I Say??

I've spent a lot of time with little brother, Bo, this week, we're on Christmas break and I'm keeping him the days I don't have to work, And ya know...he's alright. Still hyper, yes, sometimes annoying and talks WAY to much, BUT! When you look at him, tilt your head to the side just a hair, close your left eye and sequent the right, He's pretty cool!

Christmas With A Capital "C"

Heard this on the radio and thought it was pretty cool and it speaks the truth! I'm the kind of person that get's annoyed at x-mas! NO! That's NOT a holiday day! It's CHRISTmas instead!!

Summer's Almost Here!!

Ok, so I'm sure you are probably think, "This girl has finally fell off her rocker for good!" But no, I haven't! I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago while I was getting ready for school. It was 47 degrees outside, I'm like shaking I'm so cold, and I hear "Summer is almost here!!!" I thought I was hearing things for a second, then it started talking about ways to prevent heat strokes...I knew something wasn't right! But I thought ok...maybe their talking about being inside with the heater, which still made no sense, but I just kind of dismissed the thought...ok, so then I heard it again going down the road the next day or so!!! I thought that was so funny though! How can you get that mixed up??? It's in the Mid-November, Early-December and you're worried about heat stroke!! You need to be worried about hypothermia!!!

HUGE Tires!!!

These are definitely the biggest tires I've ever seen in my life!!! It took me a few seconds just to figure out what they even were?! It's scary to think that they're taller than I am!!! I don't even want to see what those tires go on!!!

These Kids Count Too

In the past month or so, I've been (along with some of our other youth) recruited into the Sunday School department and I've been doing the bus route with a friend Ciara for maybe two months??? Now for those who know me, I'm not the kid type! I've always said I don't want kids, I don't want to be around them, they are just too much! The first time I did this, I was in the baby class, 0-3, I left looking a wreck!! Shaking, dead looking, I went home and just laid there for an hour!!! But it's gotten better and well......I believe my opinions might slowly be changing...

This morning, I was AMAZING!!! I've never seen so many kids from the age of 5 to 16 or older that excited about coming to Sunday School!!! We pick up two on one side of the apartment complex, turn the corner and there were SIXTEEN!!!! We had to not only go and get more breakfast because it was Breakfast Sunday, but we had to make three trips!!! We only have a 15 passenger van.

Once we took the first load, I was in the older class with Ciara, ages 8-11 I believe? They were ok coloring while we waited on their teachers to come, little crazy and loud, but that's alright! They only needed someone to control and probably something other than coloring. Once everyone got there, I moved to the middle age class, 5-7, where I helped my aunt for the rest of the service. We had 14!!! They minded so well, compared to the older ones. I'm only in to help though, I keep them occupied until with coloring while we get settled in, try to get to know them, I attempt to learn names (EPIC FAIL), make sure they don't like try to escape, not so hard. Then when she started the lesson, get them to put the pencils up. Then once they're all sitting down, I keep score and just sit back and watch...

While keeping them entertained with coloring, you have some that get up and come show you how good they're doing or they need another sheet. I had one that come and showed me she was about to loose a tooth, Squeamishly, I smile, "Oh, that's so cool!!" And just to see their face light up, it made my day! Me telling you doesn't justify it at the least bit! Then there are some trouble maker, so you have some that come tell, I had one little girl to tell me her sister called her names, I almost cried, right there! I'm not the best sister in the world, but to tell a little girl she looks ugly at that age can damage her for life!! You never know there full home-life, you only know from their actions, and you try to just make their day was well as them making yours :)

I was sitting there during the lesson and it was like something just clicked! Something about see kids almost falling out of a chair to answer a question about Jesus just excites me!!! To see how willing they are to learn!! Some of them don't know a thing, and it's just mind blowing to think that we could possibly changing a life! That 2 hours they are there, we're teaching for a life time!! It's very encouraging and enlightening!!! Because I know those two hours count, I use to be one of those kids! I had a different life style and background, my grandma brought me on Sunday mornings, but I can remember being in the baby class with Sis Davis then moving to Sis Sara and Bro Loyd's, to Sis Nation's, I believe, to Sis Connie's, Sis Margie's, Sis Marsha, Bro Ricky, and now Bro Mardean! I can remember little things here and there, but to see where I came from, what I remember, let's me know I'm not just doing this to waste time! These kids count too!!

Not Going Back!

Our youth group did this drama for, I believe, Christmas last year, in our Christmas Program, If Christmas Never Came. At the time the song meant nothing to me, just a bunch of words, I'd just skip over it on my iPod when it would come on, then I was "listening" it while I was going down the road this week. My mind was off thinking about hundreds of other things, then I kind of tuned into the chorus and realized what a beautiful song it was! It was almost a year ago when we did this, and I was a total different person looking back, and now to listen to it and sing, "I'm not going back, Moving ahead..." It's pretty awesome to sing along with now and truly mean it!

It's The Simple Things That Make Me Smile

Happiness is like a butterfly: The more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder...

Ice Skating!!!

For our fall party this year, our youth group went ice skating! That's something I've wanted to do, but when I got the chance either I couldn't get anyone to do it with me or, one time, it was broken? But this time, I was very excited! Although I was very scared too! Everyone kept telling me, "Be EXTRA careful, it's dangerous" That's a way to make someone feel good! :D I will admit, I have horrible balance, and I shake, all the time, so I feel like I had a little bit to worry about. lol Especially when I have people preparing me for the worse :) But once we finally got there, even though I was shaking a little more than normal, it was a blast!

On our way there was very interesting and a test of your patients! Let's just say we were a little bit late. But all that matters is we arrived with every passenger and safe! Here is a few of our van pics Cory took on the way up there:

(Darby, with half of the youth behind her, the rest were with Steven in his van)
I think it's so funny the few people you can actually see are deeply engaged in cell phones and game systems!

(Me and Ciara)
See even I'm changing the song on my iPod that's connected to the radio!

(Melody)

Once we finally got there, were one got really happy! Like the mood totally changed within seconds!! And staid that way for the rest of the night! We had a few who did ice skate, including our camera-man, Cory. He took videos and pictures of all of us wobbling and falling all over the place! Him and Caleb were just wanted to catch people fall, you can here them talking about it in the videos!

(Caitlynn about to go back out & Josh)
If you look really close you can see Tierra and Joshua to the left and to the right in the back is me and Melody.

(Tierra and S.J. in action!)

(Me and Melody, Kevin in the back behind Melody, Darby to the left, and Ciara and Jocelyn all the way to the right. Oh, and Jacob's sleeve?)

So all it all we had a really good time! Memories of trying to hold a conversation with Medley, Melody "spinning" around in a circle, Jacob's continual falling, Definitely a night to remember! I never fell, come REALLY close like a few times, but I never went down! Although I probably would have had it not been for Melody and that one time that was caught on video with Medley! It was quite funny though, I was trembling the whole time, I didn't realize until after it was all over I hadn't eaten since like 1:30 that day, this was at like 9:30, so I'm sure it was quite a site to watch me! Especially when we first started! I come close just to watching, but mind over matter! I'm glad I did! :)

One of the Scariest Dreams of My Life!!!

I've never had a dream in a dream until last night! And the dream in the dream was FREAKY!!! Me and a friend drove to apartments where we usually go to do outreach for the bus ministry. We were in the church van, and she was driving! She doesn't even have her license yet? So we park, and the whole apartment complex is different, so we park in this parking lot, get out and we go to the back of a car, it looked like mine, but I'm not sure how it got there??? But we go to the back of the car to get the candy and the fliers ready to pass out, and a guy we go to church with walks up (he has not been with us? he doesn't always go on outreach? I don't know where we come from, I didn't see a car, nothing??) But he walks up and says a small town near us, Summit, as been attack by terrorist and they took the color away from the town, it's all in black and white! And they took at gas, like for gas stoves and heaters. I don't know if that is even possible, but the whole town was in a bad situation because they couldn't cook and they were cold, plus everything was in black or white! Even the sky was black and white, apparently. I don't know how all of this is such a bad thing besides the heaters, but I got a text on my phone from either a friend or from a Facebook status or something, saying the same thing. So we were all like flipping out here, we were afraid because if that town was smaller than ours and only like an hours so away, they could very well come over to our town! So we never did the outreach, and the next thing I know everybody wakes up? and we're all in the same place (I think there were a few other people from church there now) and everybody has had the same exact dream of the terrorist attack. But yet all of the signs where still the same, so everybody was still scared? I don't know exactly what went on, but I know I was like really scared! But we were all trying to calm down because it was a dream, but everything was still happening??? I don't know? So I FINALLY! wake up, in real life, and realize what happened and that everything was ok and I was like drenched! Apparently I was SUPER scared! Although I do look at it now once I'm awake as very comical, because nothing makes sense?!?!

I don't know where this dream come from? Why? But this isn't the first one I've had that totally scared me, just the first I've had two in one. I had one last week, I promise it was like every fear I had, in one! Whoa, scary! And around the beginning of the year, I had like dreams everyday for like a month that were beyond scary! It seems I don't have dream very often but when they come, they are all at once, like all in one month or near each other.

A Miracle From Above!!!!

As my friends and family know, I have a bad habit of keeping things in my pocket...and washing them! 2 days before I went to PEAK, I found my iPod in the washer, I found a dollar just the other day in my jacket pocket, but the most recent was defiantly a miracle!!! My USB drive!!!! My last one was stolen over the summer, while I was at PEAK, actually, but this one has all of my English IV papers on them!!! And I had just written one that has not been graded yet, and my teacher is out of town so if she lost it...I'd be in a HUGE mess!!!! When I seen it in the dryer, I thought my heart stopped!!! I pulled it out Sunday morning, already running late, I ran to the computer to see if maybe by chance the files were still there and....THEY WERE!!! Defiantly a miracle!!! I was totally excited!!! But I will try harder for that NOT to happen in the future!!!

Just Be Yourself

This has kinda been the thing on my heart here lately. I was listening to my English teacher the other day talking about relationships and how sometimes people do everything the other people want them to do and forget about what they want for themselves; but when something happens between them, they are left with nothing, just memories of the other person, not themselves. And they lose themselves and everything they once loved and left with nothing!

I hate to admit it, but I'm the type of person that tries to please everyone. I usually just go with the flow, not make any scenes. "It doesn't matter" I think I have mentioned this in another post. But I'm still working on it...trying to get out of that habit. So speaking to myself as well: Take the time to realize who YOU are and what YOU want rather than trying to please everyone else! People are more exceptive to the person you really are than the person you are trying to be...and the people who don't except you for who you are...they don't count! :)

Can Someone Explain This To Me???

I went to pick to work to pick up something last week, I think, and I couldn't resist take a picture of this! For those who can't tell where this middle car is parked, it's on the yellow lines!!! Clearly where you are NOT suppose to park??? It's for people who walk, NOT huge car! To the right is a handicap park. What if the other period is in a motorized chair (If the person is truly handicap!!) They aren't going to be able to move!!!! But no, what gets me the most, THERE IS A PARK RIGHT BESIDE THEM?!?!?! Did they miss the parking spot all together or what?!?! If so, I found someone to make you look better, Courtney! You may be sideways, but at least you half way make it into the lines!!! They missed the whole thing!!!! Is there a comprehensive way to look at this?!?!?!

My Little Unwanted Friend

You will never make me understand why my washing machine is inside my house in my kitchen and my dryer is in the outside closet in my house! What were these people think?!?! It actually aggravates me even more when I think of this little froggy here!

Yes, this is very blurry! But I was shaking with my phone and I was NOT getting any closer to this thing than I was already! This was on the cabinet in my kitchen...It come out of my laundry basket from outside!!! And I was carrying it!!! It's like 10 o'clock at night, I hadn't been home from work long, everybody but my little brother was asleep! I put it down, trying not to scream, I try get Bo's attention in his room and see if maybe he won't act all crazy and get that thing out of my house! And THANKFULLY, he sensed that I really didn't like them, and got him out. (I figured he'd get it and wave in front of me or something!) Nevertheless, it took him several attempt and the frog apparently really wanted to stay inside. Once he finally got it out of the door it came right back in, before he could shut the door!!! So he had to start all over again to catch him. Once he got it, he took him farther out and watched it for like 5 mins?! I don't know what was so amusing, but at least he was not in my house! :) But you see the whole point of the story is if they would have just put the dryer beside the washer instead of the deep freezer this wouldn't have happened?!?!

Sudoku!!!

I love Sudoku!!! It's my favorite kind of puzzle! I could do them for countless amount of hours! And I even have a teacher that gives them for extra credit, lets just say I've only missed one maybe two in two years! :D The one she gave us at the beginning of this year was consider hard...IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! I've literally been working on it since the second day of school, August 13! That like two months! From today actually! And I only have like maybe 10/15 numbers in?! Really?! I mean did she go to the book of the impossible or what?! But I refuse to give up! I don't care how long it takes me! I'm going to finish it! It's gonna happen! :)

But an-ti-ways :) the reason for this post is being over the summer on our youth trip to Tulsa, OK to PEAK, I bought a sudoku cube. It's like a rubic cube but with numbers! And it's like even harder than this puzzle I've been working on for 2 months! I just now was able to get one side! (Well about a month ago, I'm a little late on the posting thing) And I was super excited when I did this! Like you just don't know! But this is it! :D I even got all the numbers right-side-up and everything, look at that! I just had to take a picture of it! Because I knew if I didn't, I might not could get it there anymore! :)

TRY IT!
Now I wouldn't advise the sudoku cube right off! :) It took me a bit to catch on, and I still can't explain to someone how to play unless they just watch how I do it, but there are many different websites that can! There are many, many free websites where you can play. Just go to google and type in sudoku, and I'm positive you can find a good one! You can find book of them...pretty much anywhere they sale magazines? There is a place on Facebook, you can play them. They're everywhere! :) And they are so fun! And most websites or books and even Facebook has different levels, Easy, Medium, and Hard and usually one more that's hard than hard everybody closes it different things. The only difference between the levels is just the amount of numbers they give you to start off with. I always like a challenge that I have to figure out more, but that's just me?....I think I'll go do some now! See ya! :D

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

My new thing is trying to stay positive! Which seems to be a little hard at times, but you have to help yourself along the way! This is one thing that keeps me happy! It's a solar powered, dancing flower! AMAZING!!! Courtney got in for me while she was in Denver, I believe. I put this in my car, so that every time I see it dancing, I can't help but smile! :)

Another thing is walking! Here in my hometown we have a beautiful river-walk. I try to walk there as much as possible, although it has been a while. I usually like to go before I go to work or if I just want to go and relax, relieve some stress! :) I love to listen to my iPod while I'm around people and the under the bridge and the buildings, but once I get a certain distance away from the building, I'll turn my iPod off and just listen to the birds and the river. It's just so pleasant! :) This is a picture I took not to long ago, the picture does no justices! It was such pretty that day!

Theme Songs of a Life!

I'm not really sure what has triggered this, for the past few weeks love, care, compassion, and just deepness in general as been on my heart. I'm seeing things in a whole different way. These four songs are the ones that I've been listening to lately...along with others of course but these are the ones that have been on my heart. But the first one, You Can Have Me, just kind of hits it home for me I guess, it talks about if Jesus walked up to you today and said drop everything you love for Me, would you do it? Do you have more love for Him than anything in this world? The next song, It's Your Life, says you can be who you want to be, and that the world watched every move you make, that tells them what kind of person you are. It encourages you to be more Christian like because if they see how your acting isn't much better than the way the world acts, what would make you want to change? There would be nothing significant about being a Christian. The third song, You are More, it reminds me of how far I've come and with that it kind of motivates me to spread the message, that you are more than this world makes you out to be. You are human, you are going to make mistakes, you are going to make bad decisions but you are still worth more than your faults. There is always room for change. And last but definitely not lest Freedom, it always make me smile. I first heard it with the Youth Choir at my church and we sing a different verse than this, but I like this one too. It reminds me of my freedom, No more shackles, No more chains, No more bondage, I am free! Yeah! :) I may never get to the place I want to be, but I'm definitely not where I use to be! It always gives me hope! :) ~Thank You for freedom!

True Love

True love means I love you, with no exceptions. We can always find some excuse to add to the end of I love you, but it's the I love you by it's self that counts the most! We often say, I love you, but I'm not doing that or I'm too tired, I'm too aggravated, or whatever the case may be. But when is the last time, you said to someone I love you, and really put thought into it....

Our Youth Ensemble just sang a song we heard at PEAK, by Bro Miles Young called What About Love. This song always just puts me in a whirl-wind. I'm just flooded by all of the people in this world that are lost. It makes you stop and think about the people needing or dying that never heard about the name of Jesus. Can you imagine the life? A life with no feeling of guidance, no hope, just live until you die and nothing more. It kinda makes me sad, because I know I can't reach every single person alone. I do local outreach, when possible, but so far it's been harder than it looks. No doubt with time and more experience things will get better, but it makes me think of all the people in other places. I can almost see little kids faces, looking wide eyed, helpless. It breaks my heart to know I'm in America, spoiled, and there are people in other countries with nothing and nothing to turn to. Or the people even in America, who is mixed up in the world and can't stand what they believe anymore because the world has confused them or what-have-you. It tears my heart in half to know there are people who walk around silent, but screaming inside.

As a young person, I've been through many things and I've attempted to help people my age as well. Someone asked me, "What makes you care so much about people?" I can't answer the question; it always puts me in pain to see someone else hurting. Ever though I may help a few friends here and there and a few outreaches whenever I can, I feel the need to grow more in outreach. Because the way I've been doing outreach is basically going through the motion, saying I love the lost, but I'm too busy to give it any thought, any time, any prayer. So my 'new and refreshed' goal is not only to reach out, but to reach out with more effort and to make more time! Because as a Christian that's my job. It isn't fair to be able to feel the love of God, while others are feeling the weight of this world.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. ~Mark 10:45

Monkey Business

Ok, Now I sure you've already figured out, I love monkeys! When I saw this template, I knew right away, that's the one! :) And on this post, I thought it be nice to share...my love for Monkeys :D

Now to start off this is my room: Yes, I'm almost 18 and still have monkeys in my room! But here's the deal: I moved into my house about 4 years ago, and I was obsessed! Lol Then after a while I decided, well I'm about to graduate, there's no point in changing my room now, I'm about to leave but.....I'm not going anywhere, that I know of lol I'm thinking about doing my college courses near here and/or online. So I will probably be redecorating, very soon! :)

I have like a million stuffed animals (and I'm very sentimentally so I can't just get rid of them lol) So those are all my monkey stuffed animals, there is a baby monkey in the middle <3 The one on the end, in front of the small pillow, is actually a lamp! It's totally awesome, believe me! lol And the one beside the lamp to the left is actually a monkey duster, my mom decided to get me, but I refuse to use! Why would you get dust all over it!

Next: I seen a documentary a while back where people, instead of having children, adopt a monkey! That's like perfect for me!!! Like to be totally honest, I'm not the best with kids. Although here in the last few months, I will admit, I have gotten a little better! BUT I still don't think I'm going to have any! Yes, that might change later, but right now, No kids....I apologize! :) But a monkey, a trained monkey, not like some wild beast lol that would be so sweet! But I wouldn't I'd be crazy with it. They would get mad if you called it a monkey, you had to call it a baby! Like they got super mad, but that's like not facing reality or something. Totally not right, It's still a monkey, but whatever lol So I guess it would be more as a pet, but I'm cool with that! :)

Then: My favorite, My pajamas and one my house coats! :D I'm like obsessed with pajamas, every since I was little. Like you ask me what I want for Christmas (when was little), Pajamas! Which is totally crazy, but whatever? :) And I'm so excited because it's getting colder and I can use those pajamas more! (They look like the pillow on my head board-behind the awesome lamp) They have snowflakes with monkeys riding slays and skies! And my house coat is just awesome!! :) I got it at PEAK this year! *That was all because of Side* (Inside Joke-sorta)

An-ti-ways! I've pretty much rambled on and on this entire post, but you get the gist...I love monkeys!!! :D

Just Me

I've been told I'm tender-hearted.
I try to care for everyone,
It's true.
I try to give a chance to everyone,
Because you never know what lies in truth.

When someone is down,
I do my best to cheer them up.
When someone is in need,
I'm willing to give what I can.
When someone needs help,
I'll try to lay myself aside just for them.

I'm not really the type to show too much deep emotion.
Although, yes, I do find myself being a drama queen! :)
I'm not perfect in any way, shape, or form,
And I don't really try to be.
I am who I am,
That's all I really want to be
Just me! :)

What if....

I found myself in a situation,
That really opened my eyes.
I'd been trying to get away
For a very long time.
He never caught the hints,
He never felt the shuns.
I thought he was creepy,
He thought I was nice.
With aggravated words,
I went on and on,
What is it that points to me!
If I only knew,
Maybe I would have been more true.
One night while at work,
He text to say, It's argent!
After work,
Not another word,
About the argent request.
I check to make sure,
But he wouldn't say.
Just what was the bother,
I wouldn't know,
Until two weeks later,
A mystery untold.
I didn't really worry,
But I knew just what it was
The night he asked,
Do you really want to know?
I was the good voice
That he turned to.
I was person
He knew would love him
Though what he had done.
My heart sank low
Through shock and shame,
I didn't know what to say.
I'd done him wrong,
But right,
Unknown.
What if my number hadn't been there.
What if I'd ignored him.
What if didn't give him the time of day,
Make him at least think I was there.
Would he still be here?
What if I would have gave it my all,
And showed him the love.
The love that once wrapped around me.
Would the thought have even crossed him mind?
The questions will always fill my mind.
But to know he's still here,
Will always fill my heart with joy.
And now to vow
My heart and soul
To the cries of the night.
I give my all to every lost soul.
Every hurt and wounded,
I'll be there for you.
I will give my life,
Just to be
The good voice.

Don't ask me why I'm so poetic,
I honestly don't know.
But I tell a true story,
That happened just a day ago.
Most who know me,
Probably know what I'm talking about.
I didn't keep it much of a secret,
Although I probably should have.
Though I didn't understand
Why it was me,
I never should have been
So quick to judge,
Or throw a wall up
When I felt a nudge.
And the things that gets me every time,
Is that I was once
On the flip side too.
I could never give enough thanks
To whom the good voice I speak of.
With a heart that carries such a burden
I now know what you felt.
How you probably have thought,
Oh, why me?
But I will always mean so much to me.
And to whom this poem is about,
I give you my apology.
I never should have done such thing,
I promise it will never happen again.
To whom all the people I am writing to
I tell you all this is true
I'm afraid I'll always remember
All those days even before December.
But the night in very particular,
It is unknown to her in similar.
And another day I'll never forget,
The day the tables turned,
I'll never regret
But through it all a lesson learned;
Give it your all
And never quit:
I don't like to ask
What if..?

What?! Why?!

Okay so to me, this is a total waste of time! Clean the window perfectly, dirty it up perfectly (how that's possible idk), spend countless amount of hours on some random picture, and wash it off....REALLY?! That's why you have huge paper or canvas or whatever artist have idk? They are called paint brushes for a reason... And it's awesome work, if that were me I'd like frame it or something, not put it in dirt?!?

Britt Nicole

For those who may not know, I love Britt Nicole! Her songs always seem to touch and inspire. And these are my two favorite songs by her. The words of the songs are so eye-opening to me.They are, I guess you could say, my goals. It's the kind of person I want to strive to become.

I want to be able to 'walk on the water.' I'm the kind of person that has to know great detail before I'm going to step into something different. I'm no good with change or anything new! I freak out... literately! And this song talks about just stepping out into unknown, with nothing but faith. In my perspective, that's something totally awesome! Just because it's something that's going to be a little harder for me to accomplish...

The first video is the story behind the song; the second one is the song with the lyrics...The first one plays parts of the song, but mostly she is talking.

Walk on the Water - Britt Nicole

This song just hits a spot in me... It's incredible amazing how she just jumped in a car and went! And witnessed to many different people. That has to be one of the best experiences!

In the video she tells the K LOVE exclusives, (story behind the song). And then she sings the song?....lol

Determination

Don't you love it when someone tells they don't think you can't do something?

My stubbornness just comes out and makes me want to prove I can!

...Just Sayin' :)

I'm Late, I'm Late From A Very Important Date!

Yes, yes we all know it's been like almost three months since PEAK conference! And yet I haven't said anything about it! Well it was truly amazing! All the services were awesome and powerful, the fellowship was great, I had an overall blast! Minus a few things we won't go into! :) But even in the craziness, it was basically God proving a point! Which was really amazing and crazy all at the same time. But I've learned more lessons and I come home refreshed, renewed, and ready for whatever happens! :)

Here is a slideshow of the pictures Ashlea and Medley took. I want to thank them for letting me have a copy! They're great! Love you guys!!! And for everyone who is reading this and went with on this trip, I had a great time! It wouldn't have been so great without you! :)

(btw I think it was only 6 lines, just to clear that one up. No exactly sure, didn't just count them out :])

Recruited! :)

This post is dedicated to Courtney,
who is now a part of Blogspot! :D
What a great friend she is!
And look how happy she is to join!

(This pic is from like our freshman year I think. Apparently we don't take pics very often!)

Now if you could just post something,
We'll be cool!
Enjoy! :D

New Word Learned

So I actually learned something today in English, a new word! (I honestly can't tell you why I'm so obsessed with words now) It's leodfruma. It means leader of the people. In this case, in The Wife's Lament, it's her husband. And I'm probably the only nerd to get excited when I actually used it in a paper I wrote tonight! lol It's an Anglo-Saxon word, we are still in this time frame.

(NOTE: For those who read my recent post, Celts vs Anglo Saxons, at first I was totally at odd's with the Anglo Saxons, but menus Beowulf, I'm cook with them now! I actually really like these two poems we are reading now: The Seafarer and The Wife's Lament! I would recommend looking them up, they're really cool, in a weird way.)

This is like a miracle that I actually got something out of class today. I have this class first hour, therefore I'm trying to stay conscious and alert that early in the morning must less actually get something out of it! I usually take it home and go over it when I can get focused! :)

All Politeness Has To Flee

For the people who don't know me, I'm not the type to be rude. I try to just go with the flow. I don't insist on much, like I'm usually let other people decide for me. I may know what I want, but don't really care one way or the other or I do I just put up with it to make everybody happy or whatever the situation is. I don't just say, 'Yo my way or no way, deal.' I just let other people do all that. (key word: 'It doesn't matter') The people who know me are going, 'Yep, that's it,' right now. Which, no, sometimes isn't good, but that's not that point this time. lol

Weekend before last I met some of some of my family, my grandma, my aunt and cousin, and my great-aunt and uncle (I guess that's what you call them? my grandma's brother and his wife) at Shoney's, because my great-aunt and uncle were visiting. I met them there as they were going back to my grandma's house to go spend some time with them.

Well we sat and talked for a little while at Shoney's and my aunt and cousin know how much I've been wanting some chicken and dumplings! My aunt cooks THE BEST!!! It's pretty sad when I eat them, it's like I can't breathe when I'm done! When she cooked them last for Easter, I had to just go lay down on the couch for like over an hour! No Joke! I was miserable! And I don't usually do that, but hey, you only get these things on special occasions. (Which is probably good, my size would probably QUADRUPLE!) So I think they kinda set me up for this, but I don't know? She told me she was cooking them that next day, Sunday. I was like so excited!!! I had been saying since like June that I've been wanting some, this was the end of August!!! I was like, OOH CAN I COME!! I was kinda-sorta, not really playing. I knew she probably wouldn't care, but still, it seems rude to invite yourself over just for food. And she took me seriously and was like, I don't care. Well after words I did make sure, it was ok for real. I kinda felt bad, but they said figured I would want to that's why they told me, or something along those line lol. I apologized for being rude and inviting myself, but it's like when chicken and dumplings come up all the politeness in me leaves!!!

The After-Effects: Same as always! I had a lot of fun and I ate like so much! My cousin took a picture of me reclined in the chair that wasn't a recliner! Oh yes, It's possible! :) But while me and my cousin were at the nursing home service with our pastor and music minister to sing and Bro Johnson spoke, things didn't go so well! I was defiantly too full to be singing and to be in the heat - just sayin! lol

Oh, How I Love Jesus!

I was thinking the other day about what you have to do in order to do the will of God, how sometimes you have a sacrifices a whole lot! But when you do, you see how good He does in return! And even if He didn't do anything for you in return...what has He already done for you???? I can start your list by saying He came to the world and suffered for you and me! How much do we own Him for that? We should give Him our entire lives for that alone! :)

There are things we face everyday that we may not want to do, that we dread doing, and it puts us in a bad mood. When you do it your not going to enjoy it, because you know/think it's going to be horrible or what have you. If you just look at it in a positive way, the results will come out positive!
